Steel in the infrastructure

Modern Steel Mills LLC was set up in the year 2001 to manufacture steel billets, with a capacity of 84,000 MT per annum.

The main promoters of the Company are Oman International Development and Industrial Co. SAOG, Assarain Group, Dharamsey Group, H.E. Hammad Hamed Al Ghafri, Al-Araimi Group and H.E. Abdul Alim Mustahil Naseeb Rakhiyoot.

The Company manufactures various types of mild steel and alloy steel billets. Steel billets are an essential raw material to the building industry. The billets are used to manufacture rebars, wire rods, angle, channels, girders, etc. for the construction industry.

Besides being the only one of its kind in Oman, the unit is also extremely environmentally friendly. It converts waste ferrous scrap to a useful finished product, which in turn is used as raw material in rerolling mills.

The Company exports around 50% of its products to the neighbouring countries and employs more than 100 people. Expansion plans are on the anvil as the demand for its product in the GCC for exceeds its capacity.
